  • It’s Time! For almost a year, Brian Brown has held the trophy after winning the Manliest Man of McKendree competition last fall. (Rumor has it that Brian has taunted his fellow McKendree Men by storing that TROPHY on the TOP SHELF in a closet at home.) And this year, we introduce ax throwing to the Manliness Competition! (If you’re concerned about whether you’re “manly enough” to compete, take a look at our version of ax throwing HERE.).

Need Help Dealing with Grief?  GriefShare Grief & Loss Support Groups Are Here for You

What is GriefShare?  At GriefShare you’ll receive valuable guidance and tips, leading you to relief, comfort, and peace of mind. During GriefShare you’ll be part of a support group to help you move through the grief process.

GriefShare Support Group meets in the Library on Monday nights for 13 weeks beginning August 12th, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Following the 9:30 Town Hall and 10:15 Connect Sunday, we’ll have one worship service in the sanctuary. We’ll give Bibles to 3rd Graders and promise to support the kids in their discipleship journey.

After the 9:30 am Town Hall meeting, head to the Fellowship Hall for Connect Sunday. Enjoy a snack and the opportunity to discover how you can serve God and grow as a disciple with McKendree UMC. Learn more about ways to serve in the community, like the Kids Hope USA tutoring ministry at McKendree Elementary, Scouts, Lawrenceville Co-Op, and Great Day of Service. Find a small group where you can learn more about scripture and get to know other people. Make McKendree UMC a welcoming and nurturing environment by helping with Grief Share and Walk Through Bethlehem. Thrive as you use your gifts to serve with children, youth, Wednesday night meals, and music.

Gather in the sanctuary at 9:30 for a “State of the Church” report from the Leadership Council. The Leadership Council plans to share celebrations, our financial condition, updates from Annual Conference, and goals for the coming year. If you have questions or topics you would like included in the presentation, please contact Leadership Council Chair Steve Olds or one of the pastors.
